OPEN CALL FOR LITERARY AND INTERSECTIONAL ARTS SUBMISSIONS
“Girl, Show Me That Body (of Work)” 2027-2028 – FLINTA* LITERARY WORKS
Deadline: 21 JUNE 2026, 12:00 CET
Submit to: kontakt@flintaliteratur.de

GIRL, SHOW ME THAT BODY (OF WORK) is a recurring Berlin events platform combining literature, performance arts, and participatory practices with social impact. The series builds sustained relationships with FLINTA* artists, cultural workers, language activists, foreign policy practitioners, and awareness programmes specialists while responding to urgent social, political, and cultural developments affecting women, girls, and queer communities in Germany and across the world.
FLINTA* Literatur invites applications for the 2027 and 2028 editions of its flagship interdisciplinary performance and literature series, GIRL, SHOW ME THAT BODY (OF WORK), a space for FLINTA* artists with experiences of migration and displacement to present powerful, experimental, and embodied practices. The series brings together intersectional artistic work rooted in language, performance, sound, and collective experience, creating a platform for bold artistic voices and socially engaged, boundary-crossing forms.
Across four curated evenings each year, the series presents FLINTA* voices in literature, music, theatre, dance, and experimental performance, with a strong focus on audience engagement, participatory formats, and socially engaged practice.
!!AT THE MOMENT WE ARE ONLY LOOKING FOR LITERATURE AND INTERSECTIONAL PEFORMANCES SUBMISSIONS!!
The 2027–2028 cycle continues the series’ evolution into a structurally intersectional platform. It foregrounds multilingual storytelling, hybrid literary and performative forms of poetry, and socially engaged work that responds to contemporary political, cultural, and social realities.

Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be assessed by our curatorial and programme team according to the following criteria:
Artistic quality and originality. The proposed work should demonstrate a clear artistic vision, strong conceptual grounding, and a compelling interdisciplinary or language-based practice. Experimental, hybrid, and boundary-crossing approaches are encouraged, particularly those integrating literature with performance, sound, theatre, movement, or participatory formats.
Relevance to the programme’s intersectional focus. Priority will be given to FLINTA* artists whose work engages critically with questions of gender justice, migration, displacement, social inequality, community experience, or lived realities often underrepresented in dominant cultural narratives.
Contribution to public discourse and social engagement. Projects should demonstrate awareness of contemporary social contexts and offer meaningful engagement with audiences, communities, or collective processes. Participatory, dialogical, and community-oriented practices are strongly welcomed.
Feasibility and clarity. The proposal must be realistic within the production framework of a single, curated programme evening, with a duration of minimum 15 and maximum 45 minutes performance time and clearly outline technical, accessibility, and participation needs.
Alignment with accessibility and inclusion principles. Applications should demonstrate consideration for accessible artistic practices, inclusive participation, and diverse audiences where relevant.
Professional experience and development potential. The programme supports both established and emerging authors whose work shows strong development potential and contributes to Berlin’s independent cultural scene.
Proposals must also support the following objectives:
Contribution to Berlin’s independent arts and cultural landscape and relevance to local audiences.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion in artistic perspectives, production methods, and audience outreach.
Responsible artistic and collaboration practices.
Commitment to accessibility, social relevance, and cultural participation.
Interdisciplinary and innovative artistic formats that expand traditional literary presentation.
Contribution to dialogue, exchange, and cultural cohesion within Berlin’s plural society.

The programme responds to current and emerging conditions affecting women, girls, and queer people, including migration and displacement, war and authoritarian politics, economic precarity, digital transformation and AI, climate change and its social impact, reproductive justice, social isolation, and the transformation of care and community structures.
We welcome work engaging with feminist and queer resistance, language and power, generational memory and healing, disability justice, labour and survival, diasporic belonging, and new forms of collective life and solidarity.
We encourage formats that experiment with language and create new forms of connecting with an audience.
